Dr. Catherine Maloney, TCER’s director, has more than 10 years experience conducting education research and evaluation projects focused on improving outcomes in public schools. Prior to joining TCER, Dr. Maloney conducted research on choice-based school reforms, educational privatization, and school finance with the Center for the Study of Education Reform at the University of North Texas. Since joining TCER, she has led the Center in policy studies and program evaluations designed to improve student achievement in Texas. This work has focused initiatives related to college and career readiness, high school reform, charter schools, and the use of technology for instruction. She received her doctorate in education with a focus on research and statistics from the University of North Texas.
