Evaluation of New Texas Charter Schools (2007-10)

The purpose of the Evaluation of New Texas Charter Schools is to understand how new Texas charter schools use funding provided through federal Charter School Program (CSP) grants, as well as to examine the challenges and supports to implementing new charter school programs and the effects of new charters schools on student outcomes. The evaluation incorporates case studies of new charter schools' planning and implementation years; information collected through surveys of new charter school teachers, administrators, students, and parents; as well as archival data provided by through the Texas Education Agency's PEIMS and AEIS databases.
